The Fox Canyon Groundwater Management Agency (FCGMA) is the groundwater sustainability agency for the Las Posas Valley Basin, the Pleasant Valley Basin, and the Oxnard Subbasin, and acts as watermaster for the Las Posas Valley Basin. FCGMA is an independent special district, separate from the County of Ventura or any city government, created by the California Legislature in 1982 to oversee Ventura County’s groundwater resources.
5-Year Periodic Evaluations: DWR Public Comment Period Open Now
The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act requires a periodic evaluation of groundwater sustainability plans at least once every 5 years (Periodic Evaluations). Periodic Evaluations for the Oxnard Subbasin, Pleasant Valley Basin and the Las Posas Valley Basin were approved for submittal to the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) during the December 13, 2024 FCGMA Board special meeting, and the submitted evaluations have been made available on the DWR SGMA portal; DWR posting of the evaluations has initiated a 75-day public comment period. The Board subsequently approved a revised Oxnard Periodic Evaluation, the resubmittal of which extends its public comment period until April 30, 2025. 2024-2 Semi-Annual Extraction Statements Released
Semi-annual extraction statements (SAES) for the 2024-2 reporting period for the Oxnard and Pleasant Valley (OPV) and Las Posas Valley (LPV) basins are available online at FCGMAOnline.org. Click here for more information about SAES reporting.
